West Trax and DEKRA sign cooperation agreement for worldwide certification of SAP Systems

• The first DEKRA Certification has been Awarded to Kreditwerk Hypotheken Management GmbH in Mannheim, Germany
• The West Trax Award Winner, Modine Europe GmbH, has also applied for DEKRA Certification

Effective as of now, enterprises can have their SAP systems checked and certified by DEKRA Certification GmbH. Using the West Trax KPI Scan methodology, SAP users can obtain DEKRA Certificates for “Best SAP Performance” and “Best SAP Performance Gold”. These certificates recognise optimum and efficient use of SAP systems. West Trax is DEKRA’s exclusive auditing partner and responsible for carrying out the necessary analyses on DEKRA’s behalf. The Kreditwerk Hypotheken-Management GmbH is the first company to have received this Award for their SAP system. Another current contender for the Award is Modine Europe GmbH.

The recently signed cooperation agreement between West Trax and DEKRA Certification GmbH allows SAP systems worldwide to qualify for the DEKRA Certificate Award. The efficient use of all functional resources available in a SAP system is a critical factor that characterises the quality of an implementation.

Emil Bohr, CEO of West Trax, describes the purpose behind the cooperation with DEKRA as follows: “A DEKRA Certificate supplies both, the user and their service provider, with neutral evaluation criteria. This contributes significantly to raising the internal and external awareness of a SAP system’s optimal usage. Having their SAP system’s quality certified by DEKRA gives enterprises a unique award, which will develop into a standard criteria for users and service providers, in particular for outsourcing projects”.

The Kreditwerk Hypotheken-Management GmbH was the first client in the financial world to register its SAP system for certification. The company was founded in 1999 as an innovative service provider for credit and loan processing and is the largest, independent operator in this segment in the German market. Their system met the “Best SAP Performance Gold” Award requirements at the first attempt, thereby setting a very high standard for the financial world.

DEKRA Certificate evaluation criteria

The evaluation criteria for SAP implementations were examined in detail by a certified IT expert of the Chamber of Industry & Commerce in Darmstadt and were found to be valid and best practice oriented. The empirical evaluation of SAP systems is based on a representative series of measurements by industry. This allows a SAP implementation to be analysed against various qualitative disciplines by sector.

The DEKRA Certification is valid for one year from the date of issue. The client is entitled to display the quality certificate and to publicise the Award for internal and external purposes. The life of the Award can be extended for an additional 12 months providing that a further KPI Scan or KPI QA is completed and the system continues to meet the quality criteria, or corrective measures are implemented to ensure that the quality requirements are fulfilled.
